About Palliative Care NT (PCNT)
Palliative Care Australia is the national peak body for palliative care.
Palliative Care NT is the territory’s peak body for palliative care. We do not deliver clinical services. In the NT clinical palliative care services are delivered by Territory Palliative Care (see “services” tab).
We are a not for profit organisation that strives to:
- raise awareness of palliative care
- promote conversations around death and advance care planning
- improve access to palliative care services around the territory
- improve the quality of care and support available to Territorians at the end of their lives.
Vision
Quality palliative care for all.
Mission
To influence, foster and promote the delivery of quality palliative care for all.
Our work is aligned with the priorities in the National Palliative Care Strategy.
We believe quality palliative care occurs when strong networks exist between specialist palliative care providers, primary generalist, primary specialist and support care providers and the community.
We welcome members from the community and other support organisations in particular.
Location
PCNT has two branches: the Top End branch based in Darwin and the Central branch based in Alice Springs.
