PALLIATIVE CARE NT

The Northern Territory Hospice & Palliative Care Association (NTHPCA) was incorporated in October 1992 in response to the need for increased services and public awareness in Palliative Care.

In 1995, two branches of the NTHPCA Inc. were formed.  The Top End Branch is based in Darwin and the Central Branch in Alice Springs.

Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is the national peak body established by the collective membership of eight State and Territory Palliative Care Organisations, plus the Australia and New Zealand Society of Palliative Care Medicine.

The membership of these associations include palliative care service providers, clinicians, academics, consumers and members of the general community.

PCA was formed over a decade ago to address national palliative care issues, represent the area to the Federal Government and national media and to act for the sector when dealing with other national peak bodies and professional organizations.

PCA works in collaboration with the Australian Government Department of Health and ageing and has established partnerships with other key health and welfare sectors organizations including the Australian Divisions of General Practice and Carers Australia.

PCNT is currently due membership renewals for 2018-2019. Strongly encourage persons, organisations to consider becoming a member. Please email palliativecarent.org.au for membership application forms.  Membership for 2018 / 19 is currently due.
