Palliative Care NT is a member-based organisation. We rely on the support of individuals and organisations to continue to operate as a peak body and ensure access to quality palliative care for all Territorians.
PCNT receives no recurrent funding; all funding is project based. The fees derived from membership enable us to be a strong collective voice for the sector and ensure that our policy and advocacy positions reflect that of our members and the broader community.
The need for a strong voice to represent palliative care is greater than ever. The delivery of quality palliative care is being impacted by an ageing population with increasingly complex health conditions, technological advances in medicine, consumer directed care as well as a push for euthanasia and physician assisted suicide. A committed and diverse membership base is critical to capture the needs of those operating in the palliative care space including health, community, aged and disability sectors as well as research, education and all tiers of government.
